Recent acquisitions…

The other week I said I wanted to try to buy one work of art for every two that I sell. Well, I guess this is a start in that direction.

The first is a print from 20x200 that I’ve wanted for a long time. I just kept thinking about it. And while I could have just printed it out myself and framed it, I decided to buy it off the site in the event it comes with a little slip of paper that Weiner signed himself. If you’re not familiar with the artist, his wiki is worth a gander here.

"BIG DEAL" I got at a show curated by Legacy Russell at Invisible Dog for Recession Art. It’s by Detroit artist Christopher Gideon. I love the fact that "big deal" can split both ways. The easy reading is cynical, but there’s a certain earnestness to it, and care to the cutting of the words, that makes me smile. And man these things were popular! Visit Gideon’s site here.

I most recently picked up a letterpress print from Michelle Vaughan from her 100 tweets series. The series is pretty amazing. I had the chance to see it installed in her studio, which was a treat indeed. You can read about the series here.
